Justifying Purchase

How are we meant to know if the product is worth purchasing without a freemium option? It may be a worthy purchase but I have no idea for my specific use case/s and refunds are not on offer... Fortunately there are dozens of other products to select from which are likely of the same quality, but with a freemium.
